About the Author

A writer and advocate for vulnerable children and families, my heart is fiercely bent towards orphans "around the corner and around the world." I currently serve Church of the City, in Franklin, Tennessee, as Coordinator of Wrap Around, a support and awareness-building ministry for foster care and adoption.

Also a writer and speaker, I have published articles in AARP Bulletin, Southern Exposure Magazine, and Encounter. For six years I have annually published devotions in Daily Guideposts. In 2012 I contributed an article to Guideposts Magazine, sharing the story of my son Christian's Russian adoption. In 2011 I won first place for my devotional God With Us through a contest hosted by American Christian Writers's Little Rock, Arkansas chapter.

For several years, I have shared my heart, faith and convictions through this blog Deep Waters. I love to engage challenging topics like race, faith, social justice and, of course, foster care and adoption. In recent years I have spent more of my time advocating and leading ministry, and much less time writing. Now, in 2019, I hope to come back to my love of writing. That reunion will mostly take place here in Deep Waters.

So dip your feet into Deep Waters to experience a variety of compelling issues and thoughts. I pray you find encouragement, authenticity and hope here.
